RapidILL is a very fast, cost-effective resource sharing system for articles, book chapters, and returnables. This session will present an overview of the RapidILL system, and I'll focus on its value to academic libraries. We'll look at how Rapid's built-in functionality enhances the user experience by reducing turnaround time and by increasing fill rate. We'll also discuss how Rapid decreases staff processing time by automating borrowing and lending workflows. While Rapid extends resource sharing beyond your local library group/consortium, it also works to maximize the sharing between your consortial partners. For SCELC libraries already participating in Rapid, we will also take a new look at the latest on RapidR (Returnables), recent enhancements, and new, upcoming services.
