University Libraries are facing significant financial pressures and are increasingly required to maximize their return on investment. Funding bodies like NIH and NSF are setting mandates requiring articles to be placed in open access and institutions are facing difficulties with faculty posting their articles. Availability of Peer-Reviewed articles in open access continues to grow but there is no clear path how to take advantage of this in the library.
This presentation will briefly look at the current state of Open Access and review the 1science solution designed to help libraries in their current struggles and utilizing open access information.
